A “NIMBY” is a stereotype term used by some
politicians and media members to describe certain types of citizens… we’ve all
seen them and have a visual image in our mind of them. They come to every town
or city council meeting, disshelved in appearance and thought, protesting
anything and everything on the agenda.
I don’t believe we actually have a ‘NIMBY in Simi
Valley, but the term is ‘catchy’ and ‘stuck’ in my head when searching for
something to call this website… Something that would be easy for others to
remember (once they knew what NIMBY stands for) as I had not anticipated a
letter to our local editor would grow into yet another one of my passions…
